Meet The Team

Emily
I am a mother, writer, podcast host, and Humanities professor who blogs about parenting and how language creates and reflects our values. My podcast, EvesDropping, explores the myths and beliefs that make us miserable. I am a Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy Coach, hold a Masters in Women’s Studies from Old Dominion University, and have a certificate in Positive Psychology from the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley.
After working with young women in high schools and colleges, I am certain that we all need help drowning out those superficial shouting voices – only then will we begin hearing the little whispers of our souls. I hope to help you unearth your beautiful voice and usher you into your badass self.
I started GRLPWR Denver. This isn’t just a passion project for me—it’s deeply personal.
I watched as so many incredible women around me, women I love, had their lives shattered after the end of marriages or relationships. It was as though the foundation of everything they knew, everything they had built, came crashing down in an instant. I saw the heartache, the self-doubt, the uncertainty. And I thought, "That will never be me."
But it wasn’t just about surviving—I didn’t want to be trapped in a place where my sense of self was tied to someone else. I promised myself I would never again let my happiness, my stability, or my future depend on anyone else in that way.
Now, let me be clear. This isn’t about shutting out others or embracing a hyper-independent mindset. It’s about knowing my worth and having the strength to stand on my own, no matter what life throws my way. It’s about giving myself the freedom to thrive—not just survive.
GRLPWR Denver was born from this promise. It’s about creating a space where we lift each other up, where we show that women can be whole, strong, and powerful on their own terms. Here, we don’t just survive—we flourish together. We share our stories, we learn from one another, and we remind each other that we are more than capable of anything we set our minds to.
So thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s continue to empower one another, to find strength in sisterhood, and to never let go of that promise we made to ourselves—that we are enough.

I am a mother and a creative visionary. I am also an entrepreneur, Yoga Instructor, Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Energy Healing practitioner, Quantum Human Design specialist, and currently training in TRE (trauma-releasing exercises). The process of supporting and loving yourself is not always easy, but a deeply rewarding journey. Your active participation is required, but we certainly do not need to do it all alone. I am here to help you see your light and live in connection with that. When we begin to see ourselves as gifts, we cultivate the strength and grace to treat ourselves and define our lives accordingly.
